1. Halsey- Born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, this New Jersey born singer rose to fame in less than a year. She first came out with her debut album 'Room 93' with songs like Hurricane and Trouble in 2014 and in August 2015 she released her debut album 'Badlands' with other hit songs like New Americana and Ghost.
Halsey's songs talk about sex, loss, love and been a young teen basically. Her lyrics are easily relatable whether you're living through what she's singing about or reminiscing the 'good old days.'
Her voice has a raw yet pure touch to it and the general sound of her music, uses the science of sound.
Definitely check out her in the websites, I'll put down below.
2. Pierce The Veil- This San Diego based band formed in 2007 and released their debut album 'A Flair For The Dramatic'. Later in 2010 they released their second studio album 'Selfish Machines,' which did well with songs like Caraphernelia and Bulletproof Love. However, their first big breakthrough was in 2012 when they released the single King For A Day featuring Sleeping With Sirens frontman, Kellin Quinn and the song was instantly a hit. They later came out with their third album 'Collide With The Sky' which was a success.
Pierce The Veil's songs describe things such as suicide, depression and love.
With the frontman's emotional voice, strong guitars and bass topped of with the phenomal drumming, the sound is very heavy but they also do much more softer songs with just acoustics.
They definitely have good music and you should check them out.
3. Melanie Martinez- This Portugese beauty made her first appearance in 2012 on The Voice with her own rendition of Britney Spear's Toxic which the judges loved. However she didn't win the television series, but she carried on to make music.
After the show, she made a breakthrough when her single Carousel on the hit television series American Horror Story: Freakshow.
She then later went on to release the debut album 'Crybaby' with other hit songs such as Dollhouse and Mad Hatter.
The album itself has a very child-like sound to it however she describe very adult problems.
Melanie is a very visual person and it is very evident through her social media and especially in her music videos.
So those were my current favourite music artists at the moment! Be sure to check out their links below. Whoose music have you been listening to recently? Tell me about it in the comments.
