Happy New Year!

New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year! And yes, I do realise I am a bit late on the whole New Years thing but hey, cut me some slack, I'm fifteen for Christ’s sake.

Anyway, how has the first few days of 2016 been for you? I feel like for the first month or so, people are still going strong with their resolutions but once February comes around, shit hits the fan and their Pilates class turns into who-can-lick-the-remains-of-chocolat-off-the-ground  the-fastest.
New Year's resolutions are always a struggle, for everyone. That is why I have compiled my own list of resolutions that you could try out yourself. Note: remember, these resolutions are a gradual process, so these will take longer than two to three weeks! It a new year’s resolution so give it time to become part of your routine.

1. Push yourself to get up earlier. Start with 7am, then 6am and eventually 5:30am, go outside and just watch the sunrise. You don't have to do this everyday, even once a month! Just being up before the rest of the world and taking that time to yourself before properly starting your day, will make you feel 100 times better about yourself! I've done it a couple times this week and it's amazing to just sit alone with your thoughts watching the sun rise.
2. Drink more. Recently I bought myself a 1L bottle which I fill up everyday at breakfast and I try to drink the whole thing at least once a day. The only problem is that I find myself going to the loo constantly. However, my skin does seem clearer and I'm not bingeing  as much on snacks.
3. Walk more. Put on your headphones (even take your dog) and just walk. Try not walk for the sake of getting fit. Just walk, because you can!
4. Organise your room. Fold your clothes and bag those you don't want. Clean your mirror. Wipe down your laptop, all your surfaces. Vacuum the floor. Light a candle and take in the newly fresh smells and clean environment which will help ease your mind!
5.Stretch everyday. Reach as high as you can go and then touch your toes. Roll your head around. Stretch your fingers, stretch everything. This barely takes more than thirty seconds to a minute and helps you ease into your day.

So those days were a few of my 2016 resolutions, and maybe you'll find them useful as well. Remember, when fulfilling your resolutions, try not to over exert yourself, because this will cause burnout and lack of motivation. Ease into them, it's a gradual process that will take some time. Anyway, happy new year, and all the best for 2016!

Until next time,
Hiraeth
